Since joining Soemadipradja & Taher in 2008, Denia has built a reputation as a reliable advisor on commercial and capital markets transactions, advising Indonesian and multinational clients on a wide range of corporate matters, investment schemes, projects and cross border M&A transactions.
Denia is the Head of Soemadipradja & Taher’s Corporate Group and the Head of the firm’s China Desk.

WORK HIGHLIGHTS
- Advised Mitsui Co. Ltd. on its proposed strategic investment in the Axiata Group, a major player in the mobile communications and network transmission related services industry in South Asia and Southeast Asia.
- Advised the Compact Development Team on the launch of a $698 million grant program from the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) to the Indonesian Government, which was aimed at supporting the development of high–quality, climate conscious transportation infrastructure in five provinces, mobilise international capital in support of Indonesia’s development goals and increase access to finance for Indonesia’s women–owned businesses and micro, small, and medium sized enterprises.
- Advised The Blackstone Group (HK) Ltd on their US$1.6 billion acquisition in Interplex, a global leader in innovative and customised connector solutions for the auto, medical and information communications technology (ICT) markets.
- Advised Rosneft Oil Company on its significant joint venture with PT Pertamina (Persero) valued at US$13.8 billion, which was established with the objective of constructing a state–of the–art gas refinery and petrochemical complex.
- Advised Cerberus Capital Management, L.P., and Koch Minerals & Trading, LLC in the US$1.1 billion acquisition of PQ Performance Chemicals of PQ Group Holdings Inc.
- Advised Japan Tobacco International on the acquisition of 100% of shares in an Indonesian clove cigarette manufacturer and its main distributor and their combined debt, with a total transaction value of approximately US$1 billion.
